Receptionists

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, admitting and discharging patients, filling some prescriptions, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance.  Receptionists will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the performance of their duties.

Overview

If you have ever yearned to combine your love for animals with a team whose culture is inclusive and just a bit quirky and fun, we are the fit for you.  We are not a cookie-cutter corporate hospital.  Rather, we are an independent private practice comprised of talented go-getters that love to bond with our clients while dancing to the beat of our own drum.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and laboratory testing to ensure accurate diagnostics and treatments.  Perform detailed animal husbandry histories with clients and when patients are admitted provide care while in hospital.  Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and exotics like non-venomous reptiles, pocket pets such as rabbits, ferrets, rodents, guinea pigs, birds, and chickens using proper handling techniques and restraint methods (don't worry we will show you!).  Prepare animals for surgeries or diagnostic imaging by applying aseptic techniques and ensuring proper positioning.  Manage diagnostic tools such as radiology equipment, perform dental procedures, and interpret basic results.  Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing post-operative care.  Maintain detailed records of pet care procedures, laboratory results, and treatment plans to ensure seamless communication within the team. Interact and communicate with clients during examinations and for day-admittance appointments and surgeries.  Be able to go overestimates and payment options with clients.  Educate clients on basic care such as heartworm and flea prevention.
